International Volunteers Unite for Abu Dhabi Beach Cleanup
What an incredible Beach cleanup activity in Abu Dhabi with passionate volunteers who traveled from all corners of the globe to attend the ICCA Congress! 💪🏼 The initiative brought together conference delegates who transformed their business trip into an opportunity for environmental impact.
A special thanks to the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) for their innovative approach to event hosting. Their vision perfectly exemplifies sustainable tourism: if people come to the UAE for events, why not invite them to leave a positive mark on our environment? This concept bridges the gap between business tourism and environmental stewardship.
The results were remarkable – together, we successfully removed 221kg of waste from Abu Dhabi’s pristine beaches! 🌍 The collected debris included plastic bottles, fishing nets, microplastics, and various other forms of marine litter that threaten our coastal ecosystem. Every piece removed helps protect marine life and preserve the natural beauty of our shorelines.
