Companies for Good offers UAE businesses fantastic ways to do good this Ramadan 2024
Ramadan is expected to fall between Sunday 10 March and 8 April 2024.
When you think of Ramadan, you think of giving, kindness, helping people who aren’t as lucky as you… It’s important for all of us – including businesses.
So, what can you do? Well you could just give money. But that doesn’t help your employees get involved. It doesn’t boost morale or show the world you’re a great business. So, you could support your community. But you’re so busy at work, you don’t have time to organise an activity.
At Companies for Good, since 2017, we make it incredibly easy for businesses – and their people! – give back to the community during the Holly Month.

This Ramadan, we’re delighted to offer more ways than ever for you and your colleagues to do good. From packing food parcels to distributing Iftar meals in labour camps to creating unique Ramadan gifts. All you need to do is choose your preferred way to do good.
Companies for Good has been distributing Iftar meals to migrant workers across the UAE since 2018. So far we have distributed more than 30,000 meals.
Activity 1:
Distribution event at a labour facility
The experience:
A fantastic way to do good during Ramadan by sponsoring and taking part in the distribution of Iftar meals, Care packs or Food parcels – your choice!
We take care of all the admin work: getting the required permits, purchasing and delivering the items, coordinating with a local charity to allocate the camp and prepare all the logistics… so you and your team only need to join the distribution and help create joy.

Activity 2:
Packing activity at your offices
The experience:
We’ll start the session with a meaningful conversation about the lives of the UAE workers and how we can all make a positive difference to their lives.
Then we’ll roll up our sleeves and pack essential hygiene items: soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, deodorant,…
It’s a great way to have fun while doing good with your team!

Activity 3:
Care products for female workers
The experience:
A fun and interactive activity designed to learn about sustainability and make a positive impact to women working in the UAE and living in labour accommodation.
We’ll use natural and organic ingredients to make hand-made cosmetics: soap, lip balm, toothpaste, deodorant, scrubs…
We’ll then place the cosmetics inside a paper bag, along with a nice flower, and we’ll write a nice message for the ladies receiving the gifts.

Activity 4:
Pack school stationary for refugee children
The experience:
We’ll start with a conversation about the lives of the beneficiaries and then we’ll roll up our sleeves and start packing school items into the backpacks: pencils, notebook, folder, ruler, eraser, sharpener…
We’ll also get creative by decorating the notebook cover, and we’ll add a solar lamp, which helps kids be safer as well as read when it gets dark, or a metal water bottle if they live in a place with electricity.
Finally, if time allows, we’ll make items for the children to play such as: a skipping rope or a little monster toy.

Activity 5:
Create unique Ramadan gifts
The experience:
After a short ice-breaking activity, we’ll briefly talk about the lives of migrant workers to better understand their needs.
We’ll then put together a personalised Ramadan gift: for women workers we’ll decorate a tote bag and a zipped pouch (using a hot press); for men we’ll make a drawstring bag and a snood.
All the bags will be filled with essential
items that workers use daily: socks, flip flops, a reusable bottle and a towel.
